The collection notices, rights and obligations are included in Article 5 of the Data Protection law.

All people need to be previously warned and informed about any collection of personal information. They will also need to be informed about the existence of any files, the use it is going to be made of that data, and who is going to be receiver of the information.

In case the information about a person has not been obtained by the person, it will be compulsory to inform him/her in a maximum time of 3 months since the gathering, unless there is a law that says it is not necessary, or the data is going to be used for historical, scientific or statistical matters, if it becomes impossible to contact the person, or if the information comes from publicly accessed sources.
